Highest and lowest recorded crime rates in North West (August 2026)

Blackpool had the highest recorded crime rate of North West’s 25 councils in August 2026, at 183.9 per 1,000 people.

Ribble Valley had the lowest, at 49.5 per 1,000 people. The middle council, Sefton, had 84.8 per 1,000 people.

10 councils have no figure, and they are listed at the end with the reason.

Rates are per resident, so places that many people work in or visit, such as Westminster, the City of London and other city centres, have far higher rates than their residents alone would suggest.
