How it is made
Open Index shows the figures as NHS England Organisation Data Service and Ordnance Survey publish them, for the areas they were published for: map points.
Larger areas use the publisher’s own figures, never an average of smaller areas.

- Each dental practice is placed at its postcode point, which can be a short walk from the door.
- The NHS list says a practice is open, not whether it is taking NHS patients. Check with the practice or the NHS's find a dentist service.
