## Caveats

- These are availability figures from broadband providers, as a snapshot for January 2026. They say what homes and businesses can order, not what they have or the speed they get.
- Each point is a postcode at its centre, coloured by the share of its homes and businesses that can get gigabit-capable broadband. A postcode can mix fast and slow lines.
- Ultrafast is 100 Mbit/s or more, superfast 30 Mbit/s or more. Decent broadband is the legal minimum of 10 Mbit/s download, from a fixed line or fixed wireless.
- Ofcom publishes a share for each postcode but no count of premises, so Open Index does not add postcodes up. Area figures come from Ofcom's own output area and council files (the gigabit coverage layer).
- Fixed broadband only. Mobile coverage is a separate layer.
