# No religion: highest and lowest councils in North East (2021)

North Tyneside had the highest share of residents with no religion of North East’s 12 councils in 2021, at 46.1%.

Middlesbrough had the lowest, at 36.4%. The middle council, Northumberland, had 40.1%.
