# Share of disabled people: highest and lowest councils in North East (2021)

Sunderland had the highest disability of North East’s 12 councils in 2021, at 23.5%.

Newcastle upon Tyne had the lowest, at 19.0%. The middle council, Gateshead, had 21.7%.
