# Cheapest and most expensive places in Scotland for detached houses (August 2026)

Edinburgh was the most expensive of Scotland’s 32 councils in August 2026 (detached house price £691,415).

Na h-Eileanan Siar was the cheapest (£184,929). The middle council, Argyll and Bute, had £344,505.
