# Claimant rate: highest and lowest councils in East Midlands (August 2026)

Nottingham had the highest claimant rate of East Midlands’s 35 councils in August 2026, at 6.1%.

Derbyshire Dales, Harborough and Rutland had the joint lowest, at 1.8%. The middle council, Bolsover, had 2.9%.
